Antique Kurdish Malatya Rug, 3.3x5.7 ft, 102x175 cm, Handwoven Turkish Wool Rug

This antique Kurdish Malatya rug is a handwoven wool piece from Eastern Turkey, approximately 120 years old, featuring a bold geometric composition and a strong tribal character. The rug reflects the weaving heritage of the Malatya region through its compartmented field design, stepped medallion forms, and richly detailed borders.

The rug features a warm red field divided into two striking panels, each filled with geometric medallion motifs in deep navy, ivory, brown, and muted blue. The wide outer border is decorated with repeating hooked motifs in red, mustard, blue, and ivory, creating a powerful and balanced tribal look. The overall composition gives the rug a highly authentic and collectible antique character.

The color palette includes red, brick red, navy blue, indigo, ivory, mustard yellow, brown, muted blue, and earthy tones. Measuring 102x175 cm / 3.3x5.7 ft, this rug works beautifully as an entryway rug, bedroom rug, bedside rug, accent rug, small area rug, or decorative wall hanging.

As an antique handmade rug, it may show natural signs of age such as gentle wear, fading, slight irregularities, color variation, fringe wear, and handmade imperfections. These details are part of its authenticity and make each piece one of a kind. The rug will be carefully washed and ironed before shipping.
