Antique Konya Sille Prayer Rug, 3.8x5.7 ft, 117x175 cm, Handwoven Turkish Wool Rug

This antique Konya Sille rug is a handwoven wool piece, approximately 100 years old, with a rare and meaningful Anatolian character. Sille, located near Konya in Central Turkey, is known for its historic multicultural weaving heritage. This piece is especially notable because it is attributed to Greek/Rum weavers from the Sille region, giving it strong collectible and cultural value.

The rug features a warm red central field with a decorative medallion, prayer-like directional composition, stylized floral forms, and detailed side motifs. The green section on one side creates a distinctive asymmetrical balance, while the dark floral border frames the design with depth and elegance.

The color palette includes red, burgundy, olive green, black, ivory, mustard yellow, soft gray, brown, and muted earthy tones. Measuring 117x175 cm / 3.8x5.7 ft, this rug works beautifully as an accent rug, entryway rug, bedside rug, wall hanging, prayer-style textile, or collector’s piece.

As an antique handmade rug, it may show natural signs of age such as gentle wear, fading, slight irregularities, color variation, fringe wear, and handmade imperfections. These details are part of its authenticity and make each piece one of a kind.
